Tall, Deeply Carved Rosewood Étagère

Here’s a stunningly crafted, large, 19th-Century American Victorian marble top étagère with a rosewood India ink finish. Includes an elaborate carved floral crown, a large shaped center mirror and several smaller side accent mirrors with beveled glass. Also includes eight serpentine shelves with molded edges and scrolled support arms, and a marble top base with lower drawers and shaped legs with claw feet. This is a confirmed product of the historical Cincinnati furniture makers Mitchell & Rammelsberg Furniture, circa late 1800s. Pieces of this rare and highly sought after furniture by this company are in the public collection of the Cincinnati Art Museum.
