Pair of Carved Nude Figure Cabinets

Pair of mythically-themed carved cabinets, with nude figures on frame corners and wrought-metal grills set inside arched door panels. Grills are intricate floral scrolls with mesh fabric backing, and each cabinet has two small drawers and two interior shelf levels. Cabinet trim has geometrical patterns and gargoyles, and bases also have claw feet.

This piece was included in a collection of furniture recently acquired by Wooden Nickel Antiques which originated from the historic, 156-year-old Morrison House, located in the Clifton neighborhood of Cincinnati. This property – first built in 1867 and remodeled in 1880 – is an impressive, three-story, red-brick, Italianate structure of the Victorian era. And it had been home to many unique, late-1800s period pieces of furniture and decorative items, such as this one.
