1900s Newel Light, with Figures

Nice 19th Century Newel post light, with sculptures of man and woman figures in romantic pose. Includes two floral-branch arms and light sockets, with candle-shaped bulbs. Includes label on base in French that reads “Le Miroir Indiscreet” (“The Indiscreet Embrace”), and artist’ name is given on label as “Rancoulet”. Believed to be French artist, Ernest Rancoulet (1870-1915) known known for his mythical and figurative sculptures and busts.
