1890 Carved Two-Seat Bench, with Griffins

Highly carved two-seat, mahogany bench, with griffin themes on bench backs. Circa 1890. Structural elements include wide, open main bench, sloping backs, arm rests with spindle posts, and curved griffin legs on front with claw feet, straight spindle-post legs on back, and double cross-beam leg braces. Back consists of two main seats with deeply-carved griffin cutaways and smaller, center seat back with oval medallion.
