Surviving 24-Ft. 1890s Front & Back Bar

Vintage, 1890s, single-arch saloon front and back bar, approximately 24 feet wide. Being sold “as is”, the bar is a surviving, pre-Prohibition Era saloon bar that was a one-time-only installation, straight from the seller to its only owner, in Chicago IL. As a “survivor”, this classic artifact has seen more than its share of aging and wear, and, in fact, has had carpeting applied to the recessed panels on the front bar.

The back mirror within the single arch consists of two large, shaped sections that meet in the middle, covered by a three-inch wide brace. The back bar itself has an angled, linear crown, with carved columns and capitals as part of the upper frame. The base includes multiple drawers and cabinets. (See photo included in the scrolling series here.) Documentation includes label from Pabst Brewery, which acquired the bar and sold it to the buyer under the “Pabst” marketing label on the condition that the proprietor would sell only Pabst products. Original tag is attached on back of frame.
