16-Light Gas Chandelier

Classic, ornate gas chandelier, with brass frame and 16 gas candle fixtures. Center frame has multi-tier structure, with connective brass ribbon strips, and crafted brass detail on exterior rings and dome. Grouped by pairs, the two-armed fixtures have graceful scrolled arms with a central finial, plus gas valves on bottom curves. Bottom dome features the same fine surface details, with ornamental finials around the top of the bowl’s rim, and the bottom center is capped with a large, decorative finial.

This piece was included in a collection of furniture recently acquired by Wooden Nickel Antiques which originated from the historic, 156-year-old Morrison House, located in the Clifton neighborhood of Cincinnati. This property – first built in 1867 and remodeled in 1880 – is an impressive, three-story, red-brick, Italianate structure of the Victorian era. And it had been home to many unique, late-1800s period pieces of furniture and decorative items, such as this one.
