French Bronze & Marble Zodiac Coffee Table

Grand and highly detailed, bowl-shaped coffee table, with bronze frame, legs and shaped marble base. This stunning piece is stamped by the Barbedienne Foundation, circa late 1800s, and is signed by artisan Ferdinand Levillain. The main inner bowl has magnificently detailed relief of the signs of the Zodiac and other mythical faces and figures, and there is an outer rim, which holds a large round piece of glass with a thick, double-beveled edge. Upper frame sits on shaped bronze legs, comprised of lion heads and claw feet, and these are fastened to shaped, grey marble base.
