Fabulous 1907 6-Door, Porcelain-Lined Ice Box

Large, rugged, 1907 solid porcelain-lined ice box, retrieved from Stone mansion in Hyde Park. The structure of this Early Industrial-style appliance includes six compartments of various sizes with solid white porcelain lining, reflective metal frame, clamp doors, wire-frame shelves, fan, and drain.

Manufactured by the Jewett Refrigerator Co. of Buffalo, New York, this unit retains the original company name plate and product information label. Also, this piece was used as a prop in the production of the 2015 Todd Haynes’ movie “Carol”, which was largely filmed in Cincinnati. All in all, this is a very versatile appliance that can be used for commercial food refrigeration, in a bar establishment, or even for wine storage.
